Gendarmerie arrested a Bolivian couple traveling with 6 kilograms (13.2 pounds) of cocaine.

The officers discovered that the Bolivian criminals had a backpack with drugs under the seat.

In a road control operation, the Argentine National Gendarmerie (GNA) detained a couple of Bolivians who were attempting to transport more than six kilos of cocaine on a bus bound for Buenos Aires.

The firm security strategy of Javier Milei's Government continues to yield results in the fight against drug trafficking, which now added a new victory in Santiago del Estero.

Within the framework of a prevention and road control operation, National Gendarmerie officers managed to intercept a transport used as a "shopping tour," which was actually a front for drug transportation.

The procedure took place at kilometer 442 of National Route No. 16, when personnel from the "Monte Quemado" Section of Squadron 59 inspected the bus covering the Salta - Buenos Aires route.

During the inspection, the agents detected a backpack hidden under the seat of a couple of Bolivian nationality. Upon opening it, they found six packages wrapped in ochre-colored tape, whose contents were subjected to field tests.

The studies conducted by Criminalistics and Forensic Studies confirmed that it was cocaine base paste, with a total weight of 6 kilos and 171 grams.

Following the provisions of Federal Court No. 1 of Santiago del Estero, the drug and other items of interest were seized, while the detainees were placed at the disposal of the Justice for violation of Narcotics Law 23.737.

The Minister of Security, Patricia Bullrich, celebrated the outcome of the operation through her personal X account, posting the following message: "2 WITH 6. END OF THE JOURNEY. Drugs seized, narcos detained; This is how the business is cut."

"Two narcos with 6 kilos of cocaine in a backpack on a bus. Gendarmerie stopped it in Santiago del Estero, found it, and what was a 'shopping tour' resulted in one to jail," Bullrich explained.

This new blow to organized crime reinforces the effectiveness of the security measures implemented by Milei's Government, whose commitment to combating drug trafficking translates into increasingly precise and forceful operations.
