George Lucas, creator of the iconic saga Star Wars, has confirmed that his active stage in the galaxy far, far away is behind him. In a recent interview with The Wall Street Journal, the filmmaker made it clear that he no longer plans to get involved in future projects of the franchise.
After handing over Lucasfilm to Disney, the company has shaped Star Wars according to its vision. Lucas states that he has accepted this change and now prioritizes personal projects and matters "more complex" than the top-tier saga.

Disney's vision for Star Wars
Since acquiring Lucasfilm, Disney has put its stamp on the saga. Some series have surprised audiences with a more adult approach and by exploring characters and corners of the universe that were little known.
However, certain recent films have caused criticism for changes in tone and questionable narrative decisions. Lucas acknowledges these ups and downs, but keeps an attitude of acceptance: the saga continues to evolve without him.
Lucas's stance on his departure
"Disney took over and gave it its vision: that's what happens. Of course, I've already moved on. I have a life", Lucas explained.

The creator emphasizes that even the most iconic authors need to step away from their works in order to live and create new stories. His decision reflects maturity and an acceptance that Star Wars now belongs to another corporate vision.
