An original story after The Rise of Skywalker
According to Variety, the film will be set five years after Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker (2019). This confirms that it moves away from the Skywalker saga to explore a period never before seen on screen.
Lucasfilm described the project as "a completely original story", which is generating great anticipation in the fan community. Levy, known for Deadpool & Wolverine, promises to bring a fresh approach to the franchise.
A star-studded cast for the new era of Star Wars
The cast is equally impressive: Amy Adams, Matt Smith (main villain), Mia Goth, Aaron Pierre (Rebel Ridge). The team is completed by Simon Bird (The Inbetweeners), Jamael Westman (Life Goes On), and Daniel Ings (The Gentlemen).
