The Iranian Grand Ayatollah Naser Makarem Shirazi, one of the highest religious authorities in Shia Islam, issued a fatwa this Saturday declaring the President of the United States, Donald Trump, and the Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, as "enemies of God" and called on Muslims worldwide to kill them.
The fatwa, which holds religious and legal authority within Shia Islam, was published in response to a theological inquiry regarding what actions should be taken in the face of statements by foreign figures threatening Iran's Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, and the country's religious hierarchy.
In his response, Makarem Shirazi described these individuals as muhārib, meaning "enemies of God," a grave designation in Islamic law that justifies violent retaliation.

"Any person or regime that threatens the Supreme Leader or religious authority must be considered an enemy of God. It is the duty of all Muslims to make them repent for their actions. If they suffer any harm during that effort, they will receive the reward of martyrs in the path of God," states the text published in Iranian media.
