The Israel Defense Forces reported on Wednesday that they carried out airstrikes on Hamas targets in various locations in the Gaza Strip, after members of the terrorist group opened fire on Israeli troops in the Khan Younis area. The incident occurred in the morning and, according to the official statement, no soldiers were injured.
The attack took place in the eastern sector of the so-called Yellow Line, an area under Israeli control and regulated by the conditions of the ceasefire in effect since October 10. For military authorities, the aggression constitutes a direct violation of the agreement, which enabled an immediate response aimed at preventing further hostile actions by Hamas.
Israeli actions to contain terrorist abuses
Despite the ceasefire, Israel has carried out targeted operations in Gaza whenever it detected illicit movements by the Islamist group. On Saturday, Israeli artillery replied to hostile activities in the north and south of the enclave, in areas such as Shujaiya and the Rafah coast, according to local reports.

Since the truce came into effect, Hamas has maintained actions that forced the Israeli Army to respond selectively, always preserving humanitarian corridors and avoiding harm to civilians, a priority repeatedly emphasized by the Jerusalem government.
