Amid the confirmation of 87 deaths linked to the consumption of contaminated fentanyl, a heated television exchange exposed the tensions between victims' families and the responsible laboratory.
The exchange took place on the program Solo una vuelta más, between Soledad Francese, mother of one of the deceased young men, and Ariel García Furfaro, head of HLB Pharma Group S.A.

Recognition and first words
Furfaro began by acknowledging Francese: "I know her perfectly well, the boy with the motorcycle. My son is the same age. I offer my condolences".
He then stated that he also seeks to clarify the case: "I'm the first one who wants the truth to come out. If I'm involved in any way, ma'am, I'll put my head before you".
Direct accusations from the mother
Francese did not hesitate to confront him: "I don't believe anything you say: you're responsible for all the deaths. In batch 31202 there were two bacteria, one from the laboratory itself. There were serious failures and you know it".
The woman explained that the batch in question, with a manufacturing time frame of 8 hours, took 16 (8 hours, 16 hours) and showed temperature irregularities, conditions that favor the proliferation of bacteria.
The discussion about the production process
The businessman tried to explain the procedure for making the ampoules, but Francese interrupted him: "You're the owner, you should know".

Furfaro replied: "I accept everything you say", to which Francese replied: "Of course you're going to accept it. It was my son's life that was lost because of your fentanyl".
