A Disney+ bet
Kojima took the stage alongside director Takayuki Sano to reveal the project, which will arrive in 2027 from Japanese studio E&H Production. The concept art will be handled by Ilya Kuvshinov, known for his work on Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045.
According to the details provided, the series will use traditional 2D animation to capture the melancholic, desolate, and poetic tone that characterizes the video game released in 2019. The story will be independent from the games, with no need to know the original narrative.
A new plot
Isolations will follow the journey of a young man and a woman as they cross a territory devastated by the Death Stranding phenomenon. In it, the dead cross over to the physical plane and cause explosions that destroy everything in their path. Humanity, fragmented and hidden, struggles to restore connections and survive amid the chaos.
La serie utilizará animación 2D tradicional
Kojima revealed that the series will include new characters, such as an old man seeking redemption and a warrior who finds meaning in conflict.
