Hung Cao, the Vietnamese Anti-communist Nominated by Trump for the Us Navy
Born in Vietnam, he arrived in the United States at the age of 4 after the communists took power.
President Donald Trump nominated the Vietnamese, Navy veteran, anti-communist, and anti-woke Hung Cao to serve as Under Secretary of the United States Navy, although it requires Senate confirmation.
"As a refugee in our Great Nation, Hung worked tirelessly to make the country that gave his family a home proud," wrote Trump in a Truth Social post, announcing the nomination.
"He went to our unbelievable United States Naval Academy and then earned his master's in physics. Hung served in combat as a Special Operations Officer for twenty-five years. With Hung's experience both in combat and at the Pentagon, he will do his job well," he added.

Who is Hung Cao
Hung Cao, born in Vietnam, arrived at the age of 4 with his family in the United States as refugees, after the communists took power in the country following the war.
Cao joined the US Navy as a sailor recruit in 1989 and graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 1996 with a bachelor's degree in ocean engineering.
In 2008, he earned a Master of Science in applied physics from the Naval Postgraduate School. He spent 25 years in the Navy, retiring with the rank of captain in October 2021. During his career, he served in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Somalia.
During his political campaign to try to enter the Senate, Cao linked the issues of US military recruitment with the diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) policies of the Democratic administration of Joe Biden.
"When a drag queen is used to recruit for the Navy, that's not the people we want," Cao explained during a televised debate.

"What we need are alpha males and females who rip out their guts, eat them, and ask for seconds. Those are the young men and women who are going to win wars," he added.
Cao also opposed the COVID-19 vaccination mandate from the Pentagon, which led to the expulsion of service members who refused to receive the vaccine.
After the approval of the Fiscal Year 2023 National Defense Authorization Act, which required the Pentagon to rescind that mandate, the administration allowed separated service members to rejoin. The Pentagon, at that time, did not establish a new policy for those service members who were expelled.
However, the new Trump administration issued an executive order last month directing the Pentagon to reinstate all expelled service members who wish to return.
