'I should have left earlier': Moranzoni's explosive departure from Crónica TV

The journalist broke the silence and revealed the real reasons for his resignation after the scandal

Diego Moranzoni spoke in depth about his abrupt departure from Crónica TV following the media scandal that linked him to alleged fraud in the context of a charity fundraiser. Far from avoiding the subject, the host asserted that he was the one who decided to leave the channel and not the company that fired him.

In an interview with Pablo Montagna on Pasa Montagna (Radio Rivadavia AM630), the journalist detailed his version of events, criticized the actions of the channel's authorities, and acknowledged that, in retrospect, his departure was a relief.

"I resigned. I should've left earlier," he stated emphatically.

The accusations, popular support, and a resignation without farewell

Moranzoni defended himself against the rumors circulating about him and emphasized that he had evidence to prove his innocence:
"Thank God I had everything saved. The conversation with the woman who was my friend. There was even an audio circulating where six people were going to report me. All staged," he explained.

He also revealed that, although the scandal did not affect him emotionally, it did have an impact on those closest to him: "It took me three days. For my wife and my father, it took longer. I was back at work after three days," he said.

One of the most notable moments of the conversation was when he acknowledged the unexpected support he received on the street and on social media.
"People surprised me. They used to insult me more when they said 'eh go Milei.' Since this, even Milei supporters come up to me and say 'hey man, what a cheap setup they pulled on you,'" he said.

Criticism of Crónica and plans for the future

The host did not hide his discomfort with the working conditions at Crónica TV:
"I didn't get paid a single damn holiday. I worked off the books for three years. I regret that," he denounced. He added: "The channel gave me a lot, and I gave a lot too. But in this, they were wrong with me."

According to his explanation, his contract was about to expire and he suspected they did not want to renew it. However, he decided to get ahead of the situation: "The relationship with Crónica ended the day I resigned."

Regarding his future, he confirmed that he received multiple job offers in the media:
"Four programming managers called me within two days. I've been offered radio, streaming, TV. I wouldn't have a problem, but I still don't know where I want to continue," he said.

For now, there are rumors that Moranzoni could join América TV with a Sunday program. Although he hasn't signed anything yet, his return to television seems imminent.
