September is heating up for PlayStation fans. Several insiders claim that there will be a new State of Play before the Tokyo Game Show 2025.

The event would arrive with major announcements: the first look at Marvel's Wolverine gameplay and updates on franchises such as God of War, Ghost of Yotei, and titles from Bungie and Housemarque.

When will the next State of Play be?

Insider NateTheHate2 stated that Sony has a presentation scheduled "very soon," even within the next week. His recent leaks, such as the Nintendo Direct, turned out to be correct, which reinforces his credibility.

Other specialized journalists, such as Tom Henderson and Jeff Grubb, also confirmed that September is the chosen month for the event.

Marvel's Wolverine, the big star?

According to Giant Bomb, Marvel's Wolverine is aiming for a 2026 release, and State of Play would be the ideal moment to show its first playable trailer. It would be PlayStation's major title for next year.

Additionally, there was talk of a God of War spin-off in metroidvania format set in Greek mythology, developed by an independent studio.

Other expected announcements

Housemarque promised the first gameplay of Saros for this year, so it could be seen at the event. The final trailer for Ghost of Yotei and the new release date for Marathon, Bungie's latest, are also anticipated.
