UCR Córdoba: De Loredo appealed the court ruling and submitted a list against Mestre
The Radical leader challenges the internal election called for August 10 but fulfills the requirement to submit his list
Rodrigo de Loredo appealed Judge Vaca Narvaja's ruling ordering open internal elections in UCR Córdoba. The process was set for August 10, three days after the deadline for electoral alliances, after annulling the suspension of the party Congress. Although he disagrees, De Loredo will submit his own list to prevent Mestre from being the sole candidate.
The move seeks to halt the proclamation of the Más Radicalismo list, led by Ramón Mestre. Deloredismo keeps that the ruling ignores recent party practices. They also object to the judicial schedule exceeding the deadline for alliances, set for August 7.
According to Generación X, the group leading the party's bodies, there is no contradiction in appealing and submitting a list. They argue that formal compliance prevents last-minute maneuvers. Meanwhile, the party remains undecided regarding its position for the October legislative elections.

Dispute over control and electoral strategy
The court ruling overturned the party Congress's resolution suspending the internal election. It also returned to the Electoral Board the obligation to call for elections. The deadline for submitting lists was this Friday, and the process includes both members and non-members.
Ramón Mestre welcomed the measure and considered it necessary after the elimination of the PASO. His list has already been submitted and is so far the only one legally eligible. The former mayor targets De Loredo and Ferrer, whom he accuses of seeking to make deals without consulting the party base.
Más Radicalismo warns that the agreement with Milei remains possible, despite public denials. Mestre insists that any alliance must be led by Radicals. He warns that a deal without their own leadership puts the party's identity at risk.

The party Congress will meet again on Tuesday
While the second instance ruling is being decided, the party leadership seeks political support. The Congress will meet again on Tuesday to reaffirm its previous decisions. Generación X points out that so far there have been no internal challenges.
Alejandra Ferrero, a leader close to De Loredo, confirmed the filing of the appeal. She also stated that the current schedule is "factually impossible" to meet. She warned that holding the election after the alliance deadline is "political nonsense."
UCR Córdoba must define its role in an election where nine seats in the Chamber of Deputies are up for renewal. Meanwhile, internal disputes threaten to delay key decisions. The window to finalize alliances closes next Wednesday, August 7.
