Iran carried out a 'symbolic' attack on US military bases in Qatar
Iranian officials acknowledged that the attack had been coordinated with Qatar in advance
In a new episode of the escalating tensions between Iran and the United States, the Islamic terrorist regime launched missiles on Monday against the Al Udeid air base in Qatar, the main military operations center for the US in the Middle East.
After the attack, Doha authorities described the offensive as a "flagrant violation of Qatari sovereignty and airspace" and demanded respect for international law.
However, the situation is more complex than it appears. According to information revealed by the New York Times, Iranian officials acknowledged that the attack was coordinated with Qatarin advance. This way, Iran had alerted the Qatari government about the operation to avoid casualties and limit the impact, both in human and diplomatic terms.

The Al Udeid base, where approximately 10,000 US personnel operate, is the main US air operations center in the Middle East. During the attack, which involved the launch of between six and ten missiles, Qatar's defense systems managed to intercept most of the projectiles, and no casualties or significant structural damage were reported.
Iranian sources explained that the offensive had a symbolic character and was carried out in a controlled manner. This attack aimed to respond to recent United States bombings against Iran's nuclear facilities, but without escalating into an open conflict.
This tactic is the same as the one adopted by Tehran in 2020, when it also launched missiles against a US base in Iraq after the assassination of General Qasem Soleimani, having previously notified local authorities to reduce the consequences.
Nevertheless, before the attacks occurred, Qatar had closed its airspace as a preventive measure. In parallel, the United States and United Kingdom embassies issued urgent recommendations to their citizens, urging them to remain sheltered in their current locations.

A similar decision was adopted by the United Arab Emirates, although no additional details were provided regarding the reasons or scope of the measure.
Meanwhile, Iran's main security body assured that the missile launches "do not constitute a threat to Qatar," which they described as a "friendly and brotherly" country.
In addition, Iranian authorities stated that their offensive used an equivalent number of bombs to those the United States previously employed in attacks against nuclear facilities.
This way, the Iranian regime carried out a "symbolic" attack against the US military base in Qatar, since it was coordinated and had no real effect or impact.
