President Javier Milei administered the oath of office to Lisandro Catalán as the new Minister of the Interior, in a ceremony held in the White Hall of the Casa Rosada. The measure marks the reactivation of the ministry, which had been downgraded to a Secretariat last year, and aims to strengthen the relationship between the national government and the provincial governors.
The appointment of Catalán responds to the need to consolidate channels of dialogue that had deteriorated during recent months, affecting the administration's ability to advance its legislative agenda.
Lisandro Catalán is known for maintaining a low profile and a solid technical background. A lawyer who graduated from the University of Tucumán, he moved to Buenos Aires in 1997 to practice law.

His entry into public administration took place in 2012, when he accompanied Guillermo Francos in the creation of Fundación Acordar, a think tank where he coordinated specialized technical teams. His experience allowed him to hold relevant positions even in adverse political contexts, consolidating his reputation as a reliable official capable of maintaining administrative stability.
