Javier Milei and Giorgia Meloni adopted the Italy-Argentina Action Plan 2025-2030
This strategic alliance seeks to give greater momentum and visibility to the relationship between Italy and Argentina
Italy's Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and Argentina's President Javier Milei officially announced the adoption of the Italy-Argentina Action Plan 2025-2030 this Friday in Rome, a roadmap aimed at strengthening and strategically projecting the bilateral relationship through concrete goals and specific tools.
The announcement came after the meeting between both leaders at Palazzo Chigi, the seat of the Italian government, where they highlighted the shared interest in consolidating the solid relationship that unites both countries, founded on shared values and a deep historical and cultural bond.
During the meeting, Meloni and Milei, who share both political and personal affinity, addressed the main issues on the global agenda and reiterated their support for a "just and lasting peace" in Ukraine, as well as their common vision regarding the importance of strengthening transatlantic ties.

They also expressed their support for greater cooperation between the European Union and the regional MERCOSUR bloc, and renewed their joint commitment to the fight against transnational organized crime and human trafficking.
The Action Plan, anticipated by both leaders last November during Meloni's visit to Buenos Aires, defines several priority areas in the bilateral relationship. Among them, political dialogue, promotion of trade and investment, and cooperation in strategic sectors and critical mineral resources stand out.
Collaboration will also be promoted in aerospace, defense, security and justice matters, as well as in culture, education, tourism, and social policies.
According to the joint statement, implementation of the plan will be coordinated by the respective foreign ministries through periodic meetings within existing bilateral mechanisms.

Giorgia Meloni, who last December granted Italian citizenship to Javier Milei, has reiterated on several occasions her ideological closeness with the Argentine president.
This Friday, both leaders appeared cordial in front of the cameras, both upon Milei's arrival at Palazzo Chigi and during the event where they led the signing of a memorandum of understanding between Argentine energy company YPF and Italian company ENI, with the aim of advancing the export of liquefied natural gas (LNG).
YPF, a majority state-owned company, is a central piece in Milei's government's strategy, which seeks to position the country as one of the major global LNG suppliers in the coming years.
