In an interview with Radio Mitre, the President defended the economic direction, spoke about inflation, and confirmed that he will seek re-election in 2027
President Javier Milei confirmed that he will seek re-election in 2027 and reiterated his defense of the results of his economic program, with special emphasis on lowering inflation, the growth of activity, and the reforms implemented by his administration.
During an interview with Gabriel Anello on Radio Mitre, the president was categorical when asked about his political future and that of La Libertad Avanza. “I will go for re-election, if I am doing the best government in history. How could I not attempt re-election?”, he stated.
Milei suggested that the upcoming elections will face two opposing models. “If Argentines want to continue on the path of prosperity, progress, and well-being, they will choose me. If they want the other model, the one of decay, it will be the Argentines who decide whether they progress or sink”, he affirmed.
On economic matters, the President assured that the Government continues to work to definitively end inflation. He explained that the monetary program keeps the monetary base fixed, and as long as the demand for money does not fall, the generalized price increase should continue to decelerate.
“We work all the time to exterminate inflation. If I keep the money supply constant, it will depend on the demand for money. With the monetary base fixed and demand not falling, the inflation rate will disappear”, he pointed out.
The head of state also highlighted the evolution of activity and stated that “the economy has been growing for 27 consecutive months”. Regarding income, he affirmed that the registered private salary is tied with inflation, while informal incomes show a greater recovery.
Milei linked this dynamic to the economic transformation process generated by deregulation, trade opening, reduced country risk, tax cuts, and investments incentivized by the RIGI. He also considered that the Labor Modernization Law will allow part of the currently informal employment to move towards formalization.
The President also rejected claims that 80% of Argentines cannot make ends meet and attributed that assertion to critical sectors of his administration. “It is ridiculous, an insult to the human being”, he stated, questioning the political use of that claim.

In the same vein, he related the recent rise in country risk to the electoral scenario and to warnings from opposition sectors. According to Milei, there is an attempt to reproduce a climate similar to that of previous electoral campaigns through negative forecasts about the future of the economy.
Looking ahead to 2027, the president stated that the difference from his first candidacy is that now he can showcase management results. “In 2023 I was a bunch of promises. Today I am a mountain of facts and fulfilled promises”, he concluded.
