The actress shared a sincere reflection on the use of cell phones in children
In a recent post on the virtual platform X, Jimena Barón shared a sincere reflection on the use of cell phones in children, specifically about her son Momo, who is 11 years old. The publication, which quickly caused comments and reactions, revealed an important conversation between mother and son about the possibility of Momo having his own mobile phone.
The actress began her message with a close and relaxed tone, letting it be known that the topic had come up in an everyday conversation with her son. “Yesterday we had this talk with Momo. 11 years old, many friends already with cell phones and WhatsApp”, the artist recounted. In the post, she explained that Momo had asked her for a cell phone with WhatsApp, but she decided to give him a clear and responsible answer.

The singer assured that for the moment she didn't see it necessary for her son to have a cell phone, explaining that the use of this digital tool was only justified when he had greater independence. “I told him that the cell phone with WhatsApp is for when he has an independence that justifies needing to communicate through there and puts me at ease as a mom”, Jimena detailed, acknowledging that, despite social pressure, she still didn't see the need for Momo to have a mobile phone.
Additionally, Jimena took the opportunity to reflect on the dangers associated with the use of cell phones at an early age, especially the risks of losing control over chats and direct contacts caused on platforms like WhatsApp. The singer highlighted the importance of educating and being aware of the dangers of technology, something that Momo managed to understand. “We also talked about the dangers of losing control regarding chats and direct contacts. He understood it”, she wrote.

With a clear and responsible message, the "Cobra" through this post, managed to capture and share a reality that many parents experience today, the need to balance children's independence with protection against digital dangers.
“We'll see how it goes”, Jimena concluded, leaving open the possibility that, over time, the situation may change as Momo grows and gains more independence.
