Luciana Glezer, an ultra-Kirchnerist journalist associated with outlets like La Política Online (LPO) and FM La Patriada, has been attempting to spread a false news story accusing Javier Milei's government of "stealing" the gold from the Central Bank of the Argentine Republic (BCRA).
In a recent publication in LPO, Glezer wrote: "Concern because the gold doesn't appear in the balance sheet presented by the Central Bank. The fate of the billions of dollars in gold that the Central Bank had remains a mystery. Now it doesn't appear in the balance sheet."
However, this claim turned out to be false, as the "gold" category clearly appears at the top of the BCRA's balance sheet, under the section of "International Reserves." These operations with false news aim to attack Milei's government but are refuted by the accounting evidence presented by the Central Bank itself.

The reason for the attacks with false news
The reason for these accusations is directly linked to a personal conflict and professional dispute between Glezer and Milei's administration. In 2024, the ultra-Kirchnerist journalist was justifiably dismissed from Argentine Public Television (TVP), where she "worked" in the production area, following a major scandal that involved her.
According to channel sources, Glezer was discovered using a fake psychiatric leave to be absent from her position while actively working in other media, such as FM La Patriada and La Política Online, both outlets with critical stances toward the government and close to Kirchnerism.
