Neighbors will demand justice from Axel Kicillof's government in La Matanza

Faced with the growing wave of violence that is hitting the province of Buenos Aires,  the community of San Justo has decided to raise their voice. Under the slogan "Mobilization for Insecurity", a peaceful march has been called for Friday, April 4 at 6 p.m. The gathering will be at the corner of Linch and Arturo Illia streets, from where the neighbors will march toward Plaza San Justo.

The call, organized by the Commission for the Support of Victims' Families (C.A.Fa.Vi.), seeks to highlight the worrying situation facing the locality and demand concrete measures to ensure the safety of citizens.

The brutal murder of Luis Gabriel Quintero was the trigger for this mobilization. The 32-year-old young man tried to prevent the theft of a motorcycle from a woman in the San Nicolás neighborhood and was shot by the criminals. The tragic episode occurred just two blocks from where, on January 15, a mother was murdered by a criminal while traveling on a bus.

Quintero and his friend Iván were in San Nicolás square when two assailants approached a young woman and, pointing a gun at her, attempted to steal her motorcycle. Without hesitation, both intervened and shouted for help. However, the response from the criminals was lethal: one of them shot at the two friends, seriously injuring Quintero, who fell badly wounded on the sidewalk, right next to a barbershop.

The incident caused outrage and fear in the community, which once again is shaken by the wave of violence that is hitting the area. "We can't keep living in fear. We can't allow more families to lose their loved ones to crime", expressed the organizers of the march.

The demonstration seeks to demand the implementation of an effective security plan that protects the neighbors and prevents tragic events like Quintero's from happening again.

The murder of  Luis Gabriel Quintero is a new reminder of the growing violence in La Matanza and the ineffectiveness of Governor Axel Kicillof  to ensure security in the province.

The community, united by pain and helplessness, hopes that their voice will be heard and that the authorities will take urgent measures to stop this situation that seems to have no end.
