Argentine football bids farewell to Miguel Ángel Russo, one of its most beloved figures. The historic Boca coach passed away this Wednesday at the age of 69 after having remained under home care with a guarded prognosis, as the club had reported in a medical statement released a few days ago.
Just hours after the news broke, Xeneize confirmed that the wake will be held at La Bombonera, the stadium Russo loved so much. The Ribera institution made its facilities available to the family so that the final farewell could take place in the place where the coach experienced some of the most significant moments of his career.
The wake already began at 10 a.m. this Thursday and will continue until 10 p.m. On Friday, it will continue between 10 a.m. and 12 noon. During that time, fans will be able to come to the stadium's main hall to say goodbye to "Miguelo". The club, through a statement, asked that the privacy of the family be respected and clarified that taking photos or recording videos at the venue will not be allowed.
