Valentine's Day was the date that Laurita Fernández chose to take an important step in her personal life. Through her Instagram stories, the host posted the first official photo with her new boyfriend, polo player Matías Busquet, and thus publicly made the relationship official.

In the picture, they can be seen smiling, hugging, and relaxed, in an image that confirmed the couple's present. Without extensive statements or grandiose messages, the photo was enough to make official a bond that had already been generating rumors since the end of last year.

The first reports about the rapprochement emerged in December, when both were seen together at Shakira's show in Buenos Aires. Later, during the summer season in Mar del Plata, they shared a night out at a restaurant, where they were photographed with a group of friends.

Weeks later, Laurita decided to speak openly about this new stage when she was invited to Juana Viale's show. There she told how the spark arose and revealed Benjamín Vicuña's unexpected role as a link.

"I'm getting to know him... We have been together for a couple of months. He came to see me in a performance, it was (Benjamín) Vicuña's fault. Apparently they had played together and he invited him to see a play we were doing together, "El método Grönholm." He had sent me a message that I dismissed, I played hard to get, and then we ran into each other again at a charity race last year," she recounted.

The host also explained what motivated her to give herself a new chance at love, one year after her separation from Claudio "Peluca" Brusca: "He sent me a message again and I replied. It was the first time I went out to get to know someone about whom I did not have references from anywhere, from anything. I thought it was interesting that he was not from show business, that he did not do the same thing I do... So I'm in that stage of getting to know him".

Who is Matías Busquet, the polo player who won Laurita's heart?

Matías Busquet is a professional polo player and develops his career between training sessions, tournaments, and trips. His routine is marked by the discipline of the sport and the outdoors, far from the television universe in which Fernández moves.

Before moving forward with the relationship, Laurita sought references within the polo world. The person she chose was María Vázquez, wife of Adolfo Cambiaso, one of the sport's greatest figures.

In a conversation with "La mañana de Moria" (eltrece), the host recalled: "I adore María. I have a very beautiful history with her because when I joined "Bailando" I was dancer number 100 (I was Fede Bal's "dreamer") and many would not even say hello to you or notice you. María was always one of those who sat down, greeted you, asked how you were, or gave you compliments. She was always very loving".

She then revealed how that prior "check" went: "When Matías wrote to me, I said: "Who can I ask and request references from?" And it was her. She told me everything. I did the pre-employment exam, the whole questionnaire that one does when one meets someone from scratch," she joked. She concluded with the advice that ended up tipping the scales: "Go for it."
