After the capture of Venezuelan dictator Nicolás Maduro and his wife Cilia Flores in a special United States military operation, various far-left groups are carrying out mobilizations in defense of the narco-terrorist leader and in rejection of the actions of President Donald Trump.
However, it was recently revealed that among the organizations there is one that received funding from the Open Society Foundations, linked to leftist businessman George Soros.
Trump's military operation in the capital of Venezuela, Caracas, and the subsequent arrest of Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores, last Saturday, was the trigger for a rapid reaction from different leftist groups.

On the posters presented by the Alliance for Global Justice (AFGJ), an organization that received funds from the Open Society Foundations, the group issued a call for global mobilizations. The call was directed at different spaces, including "U.S. embassies, military bases, city halls, and other sites to 'defend Venezuelan sovereignty and its right to resist'".
The AFGJ leaflet also contained an explicit statement of rejection: "We, the undersigned anti-imperialist and anti-war organizations, condemn the violent attacks by the United States on the rights of Venezuelans and the violations of Venezuela's sovereignty".
Among the protest points promoted by the leftist group, "massive resistance" was demanded, with actions that included calls to "take to the streets, organize demonstrations and teach-ins on your campuses, mobilize in your unions to show solidarity and shut down the supply chains of imperialism, including resolutions, pickets, and protests outside the weapons factories and ports that are providing the weapons for this aggression".

The promotional material also urged those who reside outside the United States to direct their efforts against "U.S. embassies, military bases, and diplomatic facilities around the world".
The call for left-wing protests comes after the military intervention carried out by the United States in Venezuela, during which U.S. forces captured dictator Maduro and his wife.
Within the framework of that operation, Maduro and Flores were transferred to New York to face drug trafficking charges in federal courts, while both pleaded "not guilty" to the charges against them.
