Leonor, Sofía, William and Charlotte: royalty gathered on the court
The royal houses of Spain and England experienced their own final at the Women's Euro in Basel
In the grand final of the Women's Euro Cup held at St. Jakob-Park in Basel, the young representatives of the royal families of Spain and the United Kingdom attended with enthusiasm and style.
Leonor and Sofía traveled especially to support the Spanish national team, while Prince William and his daughter Charlotte supported England. The meeting between both groups was as symbolic as it was cordial.
A meeting of royal families at the final
Both royal delegations greeted each other warmly before heading to the royal box. Princess Leonor wore a blue double-breasted blazer unbuttoned over a white top, an outfit she paired with matching pants. Meanwhile, Sofía chose a white and beige look to which she added a red scarf as a show of support for La Roja.

On the British side, young Charlotte wore a navy blue dress with white polka dots, while her father, Prince William, chose a tie with red and blue stripes to cheer on his team.
During the match, William was very talkative with Leonor, with whom he shared a lively conversation separated only by Aleksander Ceferin, UEFA president.
Previous statements and shared excitement
A few minutes before the start of the match, the daughters of King Felipe and Queen Letizia spoke with the RTVE team. Leonor expressed her excitement: "It's a privilege to see our national team. The team is focused, energetic, and confident. Hopefully, we'll win again to achieve that triple victory."
Next to her, Infanta Sofía recalled a special experience: "I hope to repeat what I experienced almost two years ago with my mother in Sydney. That would be unbelievable. It's an impressive generation of footballers." She was referring to the 2023 World Cup, which she attended with Queen Letizia, an occasion when both witnessed the controversial kiss from Luis Rubiales to Jenni Hermoso.

Spain lost on penalties, but received royal encouragement
In the end, the infanta's dream did not come true: Spain lost in the penalty shootout and the title went to England. Despite the result, Leonor went to the locker room to encourage the team: "Don't lose that energy you have. Congratulations," she told them warmly.
The princess and her sister took photos with the squad as a way to celebrate, in any case, a historic day for women's football.
