Liam Neeson takes Leslie Nielsen's place in the reboot of The Naked Gun, which has already shown its first trailer
The reboot of the iconic '80s comedy already has a preview and confirms Liam Neeson as the lead. The actor ventures into a new role, taking Leslie Nielsen's place in this return filled with absurd humor.
The movie premieres on August 1, 2025, in theaters in the United States. Paramount Pictures presented the first look, and social media has already reacted to the change in tone proposed by this new version.

A comedy classic returns with a new lead
Liam Neeson, at 72 years old and with a career marked by drama and action, now steps into the shoes of Frank Drebin Jr. The character is the son of the iconic lieutenant created by Leslie Nielsen, who immortalized the silly and hilarious humor of the original trilogy.
The Naked Gun became a phenomenon since its debut in 1988. Directed by David Zucker, it had two sequels and left memorable quotes that continue to circulate. This new installment will function as a reboot and sequel at the same time.

What does the trailer show?
The preview shows that the spirit of humor remains intact. Neeson, known for his seriousness, ventures into self-parody and adopts the ridiculous nods that defined the saga.
There are falls, exaggerations, out-of-place phrases, and a police atmosphere that doesn't take itself seriously. Everything suggests that fans of the original style will feel at home with this new installment.
