In an international context marked by criticism of the high cost of major sporting events, with 2026 World Cup as one of the most recent examples, the organizers of the Olympic Games in Los Angeles 2028 sent a message that caused expectations among fans: millions of tickets at affordable prices.
The organizing committee of the next Olympic Games confirmed that starting on January 14, 2026, fans will be able to register to enter the ticket purchase process. According to Reuters, at least one million seats will have an initial price of 28 dollars, a symbolic figure that connects directly with the name of the Olympic event and with the inclusive spirit that the organizers seek to imprint on the event.
"It is not about a few tickets in marginal sections, but about a significant number of well-distributed tickets", explained Allison Katz-Mayfield, senior vice president of distribution revenue for LA28. The executive also confirmed that nearly one third of the total number of seats will cost less than 100 dollars, something unusual in major sporting events in recent years.
