Luis Galván, former world champion defender in 1978 and one of the greatest figures in the history of Talleres, remains hospitalized with a guarded prognosis at the Reina Fabiola clinic, located in the city of Córdoba, after being diagnosed with severe bilateral pneumonia.

The 77-year-old former player, originally from Santiago del Estero, was part of the squad that won the Albiceleste's first world title under the leadership of César Luis Menotti. Since his admission to the clinic several weeks ago, his health condition has caused concern, although in recent hours it has been reported that there is slow but positive progress. It is expected that he may soon be transferred to a general ward.
It was his family who reported, at the beginning of this month, that Galván had been hospitalized for eight days due to a kidney problem, which prevented him from traveling to Asunción to witness his beloved Talleres's victory in the International Super Cup.
According to what was published by the media Los Andes, the former defender's family members expressed that "the doctors acted immediately by applying broad-spectrum antibiotics, plus the help of a respirator to facilitate his oxygenation. He is still hospitalized and his prognosis is guarded, but there is improvement. Luis was never unconscious. His spirit and desire to get through this moment remain intact."
