While Argentina is facing one of the most intense polar waves of the last three decades, the communist dictator of Brazil, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, once again insisted on the narrative of "global warming."
During the Mercosur Summit held today in Buenos Aires, the Brazilian president stated that "the consequences of global warming are already being felt in the Southern Cone," in a statement completely disconnected from the climatic reality experienced by millions of people in the region.
Since June 30, a mass of polar air from Antarctica has settled over Argentine territory, causing subzero temperatures in almost all provinces. In the City of Buenos Aires, a low of –1.9 °C (28.6 °F) was recorded, the lowest since 1991.

In El Palomar, the thermometer read –7 °C (19.4 °F), and in the Patagonian town of Maquinchao, –18 °C (–0.4 °F) was reached. In addition, unusual snowfall was reported in cities such as Mar del Plata, Tandil, Tucumán, and areas of the northwest, where this type of phenomenon had not been seen for years.
