The unusual disallowed goal for Belgrano in their match against Barracas Central has reignited controversy in Argentine soccer. Among the most critical voices was Mario Pergolini, current television, radio, and streaming host, who directly targeted Claudio "Chiqui" Tapia, president of the AFA and the strongman behind the institution.
"Embarrassment with Chiqui Tapia's team, who is the president of the AFA, in case you don't know. An unbelievable goal was disallowed for Belgrano, but Barracas still couldn't become the leader," stated Boca's vice president.
The host questioned the relationship between the club and the highest authority in Argentine soccer, highlighting that Barracas's stadium is named after Tapia and suggesting that there are refereeing favors: "Barracas is Chiqui Tapia's team, and they've been cheating, let's be honest. If they concede a goal, the referee sees it, but says it wasn't a goal. Why the hell wasn't this a goal?"
