Mayors in Córdoba: sharp contrast between large cities and small towns

According to CB Consultora, the municipal leaders of small towns dominate the positive image ranking

CB Consultora's survey in July showed that  in large cities, the image declines, while in small towns it remains stable or improves. In many departmental capitals of Córdoba, negative differentials were recorded, while in communes or villages, positive margins exceeded 20%. The report also highlighted particular cases where local decisions, such as the felling of a tree, directly impacted public perception.

In Río Cuarto, Guillermo De Rivas is facing a significant deterioration and has accumulated a negative differential of -9.2%, making it one of the worst of the month. In the same department, Gian Luchessi (Las Higueras) leads with +13.3%, while Pablo Silvestrín (San Basilio) had the highest increase, although he also ranks among the lowest. Pablo Cornet, from Villa Allende, experienced the sharpest percentage drop of the month, with -5.1%, amid the conflict over the felling of the quebracho tree.

CB also measured performance in towns of the Colón department, where Federico Zárate (Jesús María) achieved +16.9% and ranked first. He was followed by David Strasorier (Salsipuedes) and Fabián Reschia (Juárez Celman), while at the bottom were Adela Arning (Mendiolaza), Fernando Rambaldi (La Calera), and Juan Panichelli (Colonia Tirolesa). In that same district, Guillermo Valli (Unquillo) had the greatest increase in image, and Cornet had the largest decline.

In San Justo, Mauricio Actis (Brinkmann) had the best differential in the entire province, with +20%, followed by Sebastián Demarchi (Morteros) and Franco Castellina (La Francia). Gustavo Benedetti (Arroyito) had the greatest increase, while Damián Bernarte (San Francisco) fell by -4.2%.

In Marcos Juárez, Sara Majorel (Marcos Juárez), Mariano Calamante (Monte Buey), and Agustín González (Cruz Alta) led, all above 20%. The largest drop was for Valeria Chicco (Guatimozín), who ended the month in negative territory.

Sharp contrasts within each department

In Juárez Celman, Natalia Bellón (La Carlota) obtained the best differential in July in all of Córdoba with +26.2%, and Eduardo Pizzi (General Cabrera) showed the greatest decline. In Unión, Gustavo Reitano (Morrison) topped the list, although he also had the largest drop compared to June. Meanwhile, Luis María Trotte (Monte Maíz) was the mayor with the greatest increase in image within that department.

In Río Segundo, the best-positioned mayor was Diego Viano (Luque) with a positive differential of +24.6%. In Tercero Arriba, Rubén Dagum (Almafuerte) led the ranking, with margins higher than his colleagues from larger cities. In both cases, the advantage of smaller municipalities over more complex urban centers is reaffirmed, where administrations closer to residents seem to better withstand wear and tear.

In San Martín, Ignacio Tagni (Villa Nueva) stood out with the highest growth of the month and topped the departmental podium. In Punilla, Pablo Alicio (La Cumbre) achieved first place, while in the Sierras Region, the best result went to Julio Gantus (Villa Rumipal). In those districts, the positive image was concentrated among mayors of medium-sized tourist municipalities, but not all managed to avoid declines.

The Southern Region was led by Carolina Ayraudo (Melo), with a differential of +25.2%. The three mayors of the Traslasierra Region with the best image differential this month are: Carlos Oviedo from Cura Brochero (+17.7%) in first place, followed by María José Acuña from Villa de Soto (+17.5%), and in third place Sergio Cufré from Villa Sarmiento (+16.2%).

In the Northern Region, Alejandro Allende (San José de la Dormida) topped the ranking. Conversely, Natalia Contini (Anisacate), Zully Fonseca (Villa Ascasubi), and Silvia Rocchietti (Santa María) were some of the names with the largest declines.
