Fulfilling his and his family's wish, part of the remains of the historic coach were laid to rest at Boca's stadium
The death of Miguel Ángel Russo left the Boca world and all of Argentine soccer paralyzed. The historic coach, remembered for having led Xeneize to the 2007 Copa Libertadores, is now resting in the place where he became an idol: La Bombonera.
After a massive wake in the Central Hall of Brandsen 805 and the subsequent cremation at the Pilar Cemetery, this Thursday the coach and his family's express wish was fulfilled. In an intimate ceremony filled with emotion and respect, attended by his closest circle, a portion of Russo's ashes was placed in the club's stadium on the Ribera, one of the temples that shaped his career and legacy.

Meanwhile, his ashes will also be scattered in the stadiums of Estudiantes de La Plata, the club where he played his entire professional career and also served as coach on two occasions, and in those of Lanús and Rosario Central, clubs where he also left his mark as a manager.
The tribute planned by the club
Boca is already preparing an official tribute for the first home match after his passing, when the team hosts Belgrano on Saturday, October 18 at 6:00 p.m. at La Bombonera for matchday 13 of the Torneo Clausura. The bus transporting the squad will be decorated with Russo's image and one of his most memorable quotes: "You can never say no to Boca." On the front, a simple yet eternal message completes the design: "Farewell, Miguel."
Before the start of the match, a minute of silence will be held in his memory, and fans are expected to make his name resound in the stands. In addition, various groups of members are preparing flags and banners to pay their own tribute to the last coach to win the Copa Libertadores with the club.
