Milei announces a direct flight route to Israel and receives the Genesis Prize

President Javier Milei will officially announce the launch of a direct flight between Buenos Aires and Tel Aviv, which will be operated by the national airline El Al Israel Airlines. The announcement will coincide with his visit to Israel scheduled for next June 11, during which he will also be honored with the Genesis Prize, considered the "Jewish Nobel."

"It's a turning point; it will encourage economic, tourism, and cultural growth", stated the Argentine ambassador to Israel, Axel Wahnish, in statements to Radio Mitre. According to his explanation, the new air connection will reduce travel time to about 15 or 16 hours, and represents not only a logistical improvement but also a symbolic gesture of rapprochement between both nations.

A direct bridge between two peoples

The implementation of the direct flight is part of a broader bilateral agenda that the Argentine president will carry out together with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. "There has never been this kind of relationship in history and this is the way to show it," Wahnish said, emphasizing that the measure has a strong political and cultural significance.

Milei and Netanyahu will also sign a memorandum of understanding aimed at cooperation in the fight against terrorism and dictatorships. According to the president himself, "while the Kirchnerists were signing a memorandum with Iran, we're signing one with Israel," highlighting the geopolitical direction of his administration compared to previous governments.

Milei will be honored in the Israeli parliament

During his stay, the Argentine president will receive the Genesis Prize in a ceremony to be held at the Knesset, the Israeli parliament, which will be broadcast nationwide. According to the Prize Foundation, he was selected for his strong support for Israel, which includes decisions such as the designation of Hamas and Hezbollah as terrorist organizations and the change in Argentina's vote at the UN in favor of the Jewish state.

Additionally, his economic reforms in Argentina were valued, including the reduction of inflation, fiscal surplus, and monetary stabilization. "Today he's the most recognized leader by Israeli society, a leader with moral clarity who knows how to stand on the right side," Wahnish stated.

The prize, worth one million dollars, will be allocated to programs aimed at strengthening ties between Israel and Latin America, which is also part of the strategic objective of the visit.
