Milei's government put an end to another multimillion-dollar political fund in Human Rights.

Human Rights organizations managed an uncontrolled fund of over $3 billion to maintain a property

In a new firm step toward transparency and responsible administration of public resources, the Government of Javier Milei, through the Ministry of Justice, headed by Mariano Cúneo Libarona, made the decision to suspend payments to Human Rights organizations until the corresponding accountability reports are submitted.

The measure seeks to put an end to the dangerous discretion with which a million-dollar fund intended for the maintenance of the Ex-ESMA site was managed, which amounted to $3,359,732,866 annually.

Minister Cúneo Libarona, through a statement on his official X account, denounced that among the exorbitant expenses was the alarming sum of $16,000,000 per month solely for grass cutting, evidencing a disproportionate use of public funds. In light of this situation, Milei's Government's decision responds to the need for all state money expenditures to be duly justified and supported by clear audits.

"WE CUT ANOTHER MILLION-DOLLAR FUND IN HUMAN RIGHTS," titled Minister Mariano Cúneo Libarona. "Human Rights organizations managed a fund without control of $3,359,732,866 annually to maintain the Ex-ESMA site: just for grass cutting, they spent $16,000,000 per month," he explained in his message.

He concluded: "We decided to suspend all payments until they submit the accountability reports."

The end of privileges

This measure is part of the policy of public spending adjustment and state reduction promoted by Javier Milei's administration, whose objective is to eliminate structures that functioned as political funds without effective controls. In the case of Human Rights organizations, the lack of transparency in the management of these funds caused suspicions about their real destination and highlighted the need for greater control.

Transparency is an essential pillar to regain citizens' trust in state management, especially after the enormous corruption left by Kirchnerism, and the suspension of payments until clear reports are presented is a decision that points in that direction.

Milei's administration has been clear in its intention to end unnecessary expenses and practices that have benefited small groups with money that should be destined for the welfare of all Argentinians.
