Health Minister Mario Lugones spoke about the situation at the Hospital Garrahan and emphasized that the current administration is focused on eliminating irregularities and improving administrative efficiency at the country's most important pediatric center.
In a message posted on his social media, Lugones stated that "the hospital's problem was never just about resources, but about management and efficiency," and highlighted that, since Javier Milei took over the administration, Garrahan's budget increased by 274%, which represents a real increase of 124 percentage points above accumulated inflation.
"Quite the opposite of the 2023 'platita' plan, when the K administration cut the budget by 75 points below inflation," the minister recalled, referring to the Kirchnerist government's policies during 2023. Governor Axel Kicillof, for example, owes 4,135 million pesos to Garrahan. In contrast, he emphasized that "we didn't come to do the same: we came to fix a system that was left destroyed."

Lugones assured that the measures implemented go beyond the mere allocation of funds and aim to optimize administration so that every peso allocated to the hospital is used strictly to improve the health of the children and adolescents who are treated there. In that regard, he stated that the ministry is eliminating "legal scams, privileges, and diversions" that were detected in the previous administration.
