According to a report by Fundación Ecosur and the Bolsa de Comercio, the Universal Child Allowance increased by more than 100% between November 2023 and June 2025. The data show that the most disadvantaged sectors were not left unprotected during the fiscal adjustment undertaken by the National Government. The AUH was consolidated as the only social income with real improvements in a context of economic reorganization.
The survey indicates that the Universal Child Allowance (AUH) doubled its purchasing power and grew in real terms. This result stems from extraordinary increases implemented in 2024 and subsequent updates that prevented its deterioration against inflation. With this, the lag that had accumulated in previous years was reversed.
The report highlights that the AUH reached $112,942 in August at constant prices, when in November 2023 it barely reached $55,913. In real terms, the year-on-year growth was 102%, placing it at levels close to the best records of the past decade. In comparison, wages and pensions remain lagging behind the allowance.
