President Javier Milei attended the Nobel Peace Prize ceremony in Oslo, which honored Venezuelan activist María Corina Machado. It was a strong international gesture that also deepened the distance from Nicolás Maduro's regime.
The trip will be brief: Milei departed on Monday night and landed in the Norwegian capital on Tuesday afternoon. He attended the event, will hold official meetings, and will begin his return as soon as the agenda is completed. He will arrive in Buenos Aires on Thursday morning to continue advancing the legislative agenda.
He was accompanied by the Secretary General of the Presidency, Karina Milei, and a small team of advisors and security personnel.
Meetings and diplomatic signals

After the ceremony at Oslo City Hall, Milei will be received by King Harald V and will then meet with Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre. Norway has acted for years as a mediator in the Venezuelan crisis. Its role elevated the political significance of the visit, especially since it also took place at a time of increasing international pressure on Maduro.
The government framed the trip as a definition of principles, Javier Lanari summarized it as follows: "Argentina is on the right side of history. In favor of peace and freedom". Foreign Minister Pablo Quirno reinforced that message: "Argentina, on the side of Freedom and Democracy, accompanying @MariaCorinaYA at the Nobel Peace Prize ceremony in Oslo," he wrote on X.
Machado managed to attend despite the risk
María Corina Machado, who had remained in hiding, traveled to Oslo to receive the prize. The director of the Nobel Institute, Kristian Berg Harpviken, had anticipated her presence: "I was in contact with Machado last night and she confirmed that she will be in Oslo for the ceremony." He also clarified: "For security reasons, we can't say anything more about when and how she will arrive."
