The president Javier Milei will participate next Tuesday, June 23, in an event that will mark his first public appearance alongside his new presidential spokesperson, Adrián Ravier.
The activity, organized by the Faro Foundation, will also feature the prominent presence of economist David Friedman, son of the influential libertarian intellectual Milton Friedman, one of the president's main references.
The meeting, presented by its organizers as “the liberal event of the year,” will take place starting at 19:30 and will be broadcast live through the Faro Foundation's YouTube channel. The gathering will bring together central figures of contemporary liberal thought and positions itself as a space for exchanging ideas about the economic principles that underpin the government's direction.
The event
Ravier's participation is particularly significant in this context, as it will be his public debut after being recently appointed as the Presidential Spokesperson. In his role as academic director of the foundation, he will be responsible for presenting the book “The Battle for Macroeconomics,” a work co-authored with Milei himself.
The text, published this year, proposes a critical review of the main approaches of modern macroeconomics, addressing and confronting the postulates of John Maynard Keynes, Milton Friedman, Robert Lucas, and Friedrich Hayek.
In addition to the book presentation, the event will include a debate segment titled “the future of freedom,” featuring David Friedman and deputy Alberto Benegas Lynch (son). The discussion will be moderated by economics professor Martín Krause, in an open format aimed at analyzing the current challenges of liberalism.
Javier Milei and Adrián Ravier
The opening will be led by the director of the Faro Foundation, political scientist Agustín Laje, who will kick off the day aimed at establishing itself as a meeting point for academic, political, and intellectual leaders aligned with the ideas of freedom.
In parallel, the foundation itself highlighted Ravier's recent appointment as presidential spokesperson. Through their account on the social network X, they expressed: “A new challenge in service of the ideas of freedom. From the Faro Foundation, we congratulate Adrián Ravier on his appointment as presidential spokesperson and wish him the greatest success in this key task to continue transforming Argentina.”
The event will not only mark Ravier's debut in his new institutional role but will also strengthen the bond between the government and the intellectual training spaces that support its economic program, along with the presence of significant international figures.
