Mirtha Legrand once again expressed her anger about the statue that was made of her in Villa Cañás, her hometown. The diva did not hide her indignation and stated that, far from improving it, the touch-ups made the final result worse.
The complaint resurfaced during Saturday's broadcast of La noche de Mirtha. The host once again expressed her dissatisfaction with the work that was inaugurated in June 2023.

The on-air complaint that reignited the controversy
The comment came up in the middle of a conversation with guests Patricia Bullrich, Pía Shaw, Nicolás Wiñazki, Edith Hermida and Guadalupe Vázquez. Amid laughter, Mirtha said: "The bust is still there".
The phrase gave rise to a new barrage of complaints. The host reiterated that she was never in agreement with the way she was portrayed by sculptor Daniel Melero.
"It was horrible and now it's worse"
"They made a bust of me in Villa Cañás and it was horrible. They removed it, they retouched it and they left it worse", Mirtha fired, bluntly. According to what she said, the mayor decided to leave it as it is.
"He tells me that people come from all the cities to see it, so we leave it", the diva explained.
The detail that outraged her the most
The host also took aim at a specific detail of the sculpture. "I am sitting with my legs crossed and they put sandals on me", she pointed out.

"I never wear sandals with my toes exposed", she added. With irony, she concluded: "At a certain point in life you already let some things go".
An anger that dates back to the inauguration
Since the day of the inauguration, Mirtha Legrand had expressed her dissatisfaction with the statue. Meanwhile, Pía Shaw recalled that the host even conveyed her anger in private messages: "You could feel the indignation from the other side", the journalist stated.
Also upset about Jimena Monteverde's departure
In a conversation with PrimiciasYa, Mirtha also referred to Jimena Monteverde's departure from her show. The cook's absence caused surprise and discomfort.

The diva explained that the conflict is due to a scheduling problem with La Cocina Rebelde, which is recorded at the same time. "I don't understand who is managing this. Nobody explained anything to me", she stated.
She also confessed the extra effort that the change entailed. "I went back to studying my guests' résumés. I was up until three in the morning, it's exhausting", she concluded.
