Morocco continues to strengthen its position as an emerging power in international soccer. The recent sporting impact of its national team and a sustained policy of investment in infrastructure have placed it in a privileged position within FIFA's strategic plans.

The turning point came at the Qatar 2022 World Cup, where the Moroccan national team reached the semifinals and defied all predictions. Since then, its prominence has only grown and the country has come to be closely watched by the main governing bodies in the sport.

In that context, Morocco appears as the main candidate to host the 2029 Club World Cup. According to information from the Hespress agency, it would have a "99%" chance of securing the venue, ahead of other contenders such as the United States, Brazil, and Qatar. The decision, according to the same source, would be practically made within FIFA.

The tournament would be used as a key stage for logistical and operational evaluation ahead of the 2030 World Cup, which Morocco will organize together with Spain and Portugal, in addition to the South American venues planned for the opening matches. The strategy replicates the model previously applied with the United States, host of the first Club World Cup under the new format.

As support for that plan, FIFA opened an office in Rabat a year ago to coordinate future international events. Meanwhile, the country is moving forward with the construction of the Grand Casablanca Stadium, an ambitious project that aims to host around 115,000 spectators.

With infrastructure under development and strong institutional support, Morocco is on track to become the host of the 2029 Club World Cup, one more step in its objective of establishing itself as a central protagonist in global soccer.
