Motorola launched a new generation of cell phones at lower prices than the previous generation.

The tax and tariff reductions implemented by Milei's government resulted in lower prices for the people

Motorola introduced its new generation of cell phones in Argentina, marking a significant change in the value of its devices, something that was made possible thanks to the recent tax and tariff reductions implemented by the government of Javier Milei.

With a wide range of products, including premium smartphones, foldable phones, wireless headphones, and a smartwatch, the company surprised the market with prices that are notably lower than those of the previous generation.

The new line of phones includes the Edge 60,Edge 60 Pro and Edge 60 Fusion, as well as the foldable Razr 60 and Razr 60 Ultra. These are joined by the new Moto Buds Loop headphones and the Moto Watch Fit smartwatch.

Although attention was focused on technological and design improvements, the most striking aspect was the downward price adjustment, something that had never happened before in Argentina.

This price drop was made possible thanks to recent measures by the national government, led by President Javier Milei, who decided to eliminate import tariffs for imported electronic devices, such as cell phones, and also to reduce internal taxes for both imported products and those assembled in Tierra del Fuego.

This decision had already begun to be noticed with the drop in iPhone prices and some Samsung models, and now it is consolidated with the case of Motorola.

The price drop

Regarding the new generation of Motorola cell phones, the new launch prices for Argentina are as follows:

  • Razr 60 Ultra: $1,999,999
  • Razr 60: $1,299,999
  • Edge 60 Pro: $999,999
  • Edge 60: $799,999
  • Edge 60 Fusion: $599,999

In comparison with the prices of the previous generation, the Edge 50 Pro was sold at $1,199,999, the Edge 50 at $999,999, and the Edge 50 Fusion at $799,999. That is, the price reduction reaches up to 200,000 pesos in equivalent models, which represents a significant decrease directly attributable to the tariff reduction promoted by Milei's government.

The devices are already available in local stores and are offered with interest-free installments, which further improves their accessibility.

With this new strategy, Motorola not only reaffirms its presence in the country, but also takes advantage of the new economic context driven by the libertarian administration.

The measures to open up international trade and the reduction of taxes and tariffs translate into lower prices and greater well-being for consumers, who can now access state-of-the-art technology at a more competitive price.
