The Argentine gendarme Nahuel Gallo managed to establish telephone contact with his family for the first time, after remaining 445 days kidnapped and held incommunicado by the regime of Venezuela.
The call marked a moment of deep emotional impact, especially for his partner, María Alexandra Gómez, who received the communication unexpectedly while she was giving a radio interview.
The episode took place during an on-air conversation on Radio Del Plata, when Gómez's phone rang and she asked for permission to answer. Her reaction was immediate and full of emotion: "Oh, my love, Gordo, Gordo!" she said when she recognized her partner's voice. She later publicly confirmed what had happened and described the meaning that contact had after more than a year without direct news.

"After 445 days my soul returned to my body. Nahuel called me; he called to tell me that he was still strong, that he needed us to be strong," the woman stated on social media.
The call was brief, but it allowed a message of strength and hope to be conveyed. According to Gómez's account, the gendarme showed a strong emotional state and concern for his family. "He is very hopeful; he is filled with a great deal of hope. He wanted to talk to Gordo (the son they have together) and I told him "No, Gordo is at kindergarten, but we are all fighting for you." He asked about his mother, he asked about his grandfather," she recounted about the minutes they were able to talk.
However, the fact that this communication was allowed did not change the central demand of those close to him, who continue to demand his immediate release. "They allowed him one call after 445 days in isolation, held incommunicado, but I believe that today's demand has to be stronger, which is immediate freedom and that he return home soon," Gómez maintained.

In parallel, the former diplomatic representative of the National Assembly of Venezuela in Argentina, Elisa Trotta Gamus, revealed that the communication was possible after the gendarme ended the hunger strike that he had started together with other political prisoners, a measure that lasted five days.
Trotta Gamus also highlighted the human impact of this contact, but she stressed that the situation remains serious and requires an immediate resolution. "We are glad for María Alexandra, who was able to hear Nahuel again after so long, and we continue to demand his immediate release. His, Germán Giuliani's, and that of every political prisoner of the Chavista regime," she stated.
The telephone contact took place after more than 14 months of total isolation, after he was kidnapped by the Venezuelan regime upon entering the country with the aim of visiting his family. The call represents the gendarme's first direct link with his loved ones since he was disappeared, amid ongoing demands for his release and complaints about the seriousness of his situation.
