Narco-structure in Córdoba: 28 simultaneous raids, drugs, weapons, and 19 detainees
The operation focused on the Renacimiento neighborhood and targeted a network that operated in several neighborhoods
A strong police deployment took place this Tuesday in different neighborhoods of the city of Córdoba. There were 28 simultaneous raids that resulted in 19 people being arrested. The operation was led by the General Directorate of Criminal Investigations.
During the procedures, 18 bricks of marijuana were seized, valued at about 36 million pesos (79,366 pounds) on the illegal market. Authorities also found two precision scales, cell phones, and an unspecified sum of money. Police also seized several firearms and motorcycles with seizure orders.
One of the main raids took place on Martín Gainza Street, block B, lot 9, in the Renacimiento neighborhood. According to official sources, that area concentrates criminal acts related to robberies of taxi drivers and app drivers. The investigation seeks to link the seized items to those recent complaints.

Drug trafficking and crimes against transportation workers
According to the official report, the operation originated from multiple security incidents against drivers. The victims are mostly taxi and digital platform drivers, who have been demanding protection.
The 28 raids were carried out in a coordinated manner and in a short period to prevent leaks. The operations covered not only Renacimiento but also nearby neighborhoods with similar backgrounds. The objective was to dismantle storage, sales, and criminal logistics points simultaneously.
More than 100 officers from different divisions of Córdoba Police participated in the deployment. Drones, body cameras, and license plate readers were used to track suspicious vehicles. The force highlighted the effectiveness of the operation and announced new interventions in critical areas.

Insecurity and drug dealing under society's scrutiny
The growth of drug dealing in peripheral neighborhoods is generating concern and demands from residents. The lack of exemplary sentences and repeat offenses are part of the structural problem. Although the operation was successful, citizens are demanding more lasting solutions and fewer circumstantial fixes.
Police have indicated that the case remains open and further arrests in the coming days are not ruled out. Part of the seized material will be analyzed to cross-reference data with ongoing judicial cases. The judiciary will investigate whether the detainees were part of a larger criminal organization.
