The National Electoral Chamber (CNE) ruled today that Diego Santilli will head the list of La Libertad Avanza in Buenos Aires Province, after overturning a first-instance ruling that had appointed Karen Reichardt as a replacement for José Luis Espert, who resigned a few days earlier.
With this measure, the CNE nullified at midday the decision of the ultra-Kirchnerist federal judge with electoral jurisdiction in Buenos Aires, Alejo Ramos Padilla, following a claim filed by LLA's legal representatives seeking to modify the order of the Single Paper Ballot for the October 26 elections.
The decision was made by the judges of the National Electoral Chamber, Santiago Hernán Corcuera (president) and Daniel Bejas (vice president), while Alberto Dalla Via did not participate in the ruling as he was on leave.

The ruling
The court based its decision on the application of Gender Parity Law No. 27,412 and its regulatory decree, which explicitly state that substitutions on the lists must be made with individuals of the same gender. In this case, it was determined that the replacement correplied to Diego Santilli, as was reported this morning after a meeting convened during the long holiday.
