The Colombian Football Federation announced the renewal of its contract with Néstor Lorenzo, who will continue as head coach of the men's national team after the conclusion of the 2026 World Cup.
In an official statement, the organization highlighted the work done by the Argentine coach since his arrival in 2022 and reaffirmed its confidence in the sports project he leads.
Since taking office, Lorenzo has managed 51 matches between official commitments and friendlies. During this period, he accumulated a record of 31 wins, 12 draws, and only eight losses.
Additionally, during his tenure, he achieved an unbeaten streak of 28 matches, led Colombia to the runner-up position in the 2024 Copa América, and secured qualification for the 2026 World Cup, establishing the national team among the main contenders on the continent.
In the last World Cup, the Colombian team had a remarkable performance by finishing as the leader of its group and advancing to the round of 16.
Its participation ended at that stage against Switzerland, after drawing without goals during regulation time and losing in the penalty shootout.
With this renewal, the Colombian Football Federation confirmed its support for the coaching staff led by Lorenzo and bet on the continuity of the process initiated three years ago.
