When the final season premieres
Netflix has confirmed that season 5 will be released in three parts:
Volume 1: November 26 (4 episodes)
Volume 2: Christmas (3 episodes)
Finale: December 31 (final episode)
A darker story
The official synopsis sets the story in the fall of 1987, with Hawkins devastated after the opening of the Rifts. The protagonists face a single goal: find and destroy Vecna, although his whereabouts are completely unknown.
The situation becomes more complicated when the government imposes a military quarantine and resumes the pursuit of Eleven, forcing her to hide. Added to this is the approach of the anniversary of Will's disappearance, which reactivates a familiar sense of threat.
"It's like filming eight movies": the most ambitious season
Co-creator Ross Duffer said that they spent an entire year filming the season and managed to record more than 650 hours of footage. He described it as "our biggest and most ambitious project so far".
His brother and co-creator Matt Duffer added that this installment is also the most personal: "It was super intense and emotional to film. There were a lot of tears. Everyone put their soul into this".

Confirmed episodes
Netflix has already revealed the episode titles, including "The Crawl", "Shock Jock", "Escape From Camazotz", and "The Rightside Up". According to Variety, the creators revealed that more projects from the Stranger Things universe are in development.
Matt Duffer stated that those productions will need to have their own identity. "Anything that carries the series name must be of the highest quality, not repetitive, and have a reason to exist".
