Netflix faces criticism for promoting trans content in children's series, and its shares fall
Netflix is going through a critical moment after Elon Musk publicly decided to cancel his subscription and encouraged millions of followers to do the same. The platform's insistence on promoting a progressive ideological agenda with an emphasis on trans indoctrination in content aimed at children and hate speech against conservative figures were the triggers.
The campaign began with a few isolated users, but gained immediate momentum when Musk shared on X (formerly Twitter) a post denouncing that Netflix was hiring people who celebrated the murder of Charlie Kirk, a well-known American right-wing activist. The magnate reposted that message and wrote "Same," confirming that he had also unsubscribed.
Through his official account with more than 226 million followers, the American magnate called for canceling subscriptions on the platform for the sake of children's health. Through multiple posts and memes under the trending hashtag on X "#CancelNetflix," many influencers and conservative thinkers voiced their criticism against wokism.

The reaction was immediate: thousands of users uploaded screenshots showing the cancellation of their subscriptions. The cultural offensive, amplified by Musk's enormous influence on social media, became a massive boycott that is already beginning to be reflected in financial markets. In just one day, Netflix shares plummeted more than 2%, causing nervousness among investors.
At the center of the controversy is Hamish Steele, creator of the animated series Dead End Paranormal Park. Steele was accused of having publicly celebrated Kirk's murder, something he later tried to downplay by claiming his words had been taken out of context. However, the wave was already underway and, although the screenwriter denounced "harassment," social pressure now falls on Netflix, which has not yet issued an official statement or shown any intention of changing its content strategy.

The streaming company, which was once the undisputed leader in the sector, is facing a complicated situation: on one hand, the massive customer cancellations that threaten its revenue stream; on the other, the loss of market value amid a cultural dispute that was not on its radar.
The episode exposes two phenomena: the growing distrust of users toward platforms that try to impose an ideological vision instead of entertaining, and the weight of Elon Musk as a cultural actor capable of tipping the global balance with his opinion. Meanwhile, Netflix remains silent.
