Netflix wants to buy Warner and could revive Zack Snyder's DC Universe.

The future of Hollywood could change completely: Netflix is reportedly interested in acquiring Warner Bros., according to international media outlets. The deal, still under consideration, would open the door to the possible return of the Snyderverse, the cinematic universe of DC created by Zack Snyder.

During the promotion of Rebel Moon in 2023, the filmmaker stated that he would resume his superhero saga if the "big N" obtained the rights to the DC characters. With this move, that scenario could become a reality and change the course of the entertainment industry.

Netflix seeks to buy Warner Bros.

Netflix has reportedly started talks with the same investment bank that worked with Paramount to analyze a possible purchase offer for Warner Bros. Discovery. Although no figures have been disclosed, the company led by Ted Sarandos is reportedly evaluating the acquisition as a way to consolidate its position in the streaming wars.

If the purchase goes through, Netflix could take control of iconic franchises such as Harry Potter, The Lord of the Rings, and the DC universe.

The possible return of the Snyderverse

The director of Justice League keeps an excellent relationship with Netflix, despite the mixed results of Rebel Moon. In recent days, Zack Snyder has published images of Henry Cavill as Superman and Ben Affleck as Batman, fueling rumors about a reactivation of the Snyderverse.

According to Snyder himself, he would resume his version of the DCEU if he had the necessary creative freedom. With Netflix in charge of Warner, he could do so without interference from James Gunn or the new official line of the DCU.
