Netflix has confirmed the dates for the finale of 'Stranger Things,' which will be divided into three parts with premieres in theaters and on streaming

Netflix has released the final trailer for the fifth and last season of Stranger Things, confirming that Hawkins' farewell will be split into three parts. The most iconic series on the streaming service aims to conclude its story with a production of cinematic scale and a strong emotional component, according to the portal Tudum.

The preview picks up the events of the fourth season and shows the rift between the real world and the Upside Down. It also reveals the release schedule. Volume 1 (four episodes) will arrive on November 26, Volume 2 (three episodes) will premiere on December 25, and the final episode will be available on December 31.

Confirmed dates and theatrical release

The finale, titled "The Rightside Up", will have a simultaneous theatrical release in the United States and Canada on December 31. Screenings will continue until January 1, 2026, coinciding with its launch on the platform. The decision seeks to turn the end of Stranger Things into a global New Year's event.

Vecna returns more powerful than ever

The trailer shows the return of Vecna, who, according to the Duffer brothers, comes back in a "2.0" version, more terrifying and with abilities that can affect the physical world. The creators described him as "Freddy Krueger on steroids," a clear reference to the 1980s horror cinema that inspired much of the series.

The focus reinforces the horror aesthetic and tone that characterized the fourth season, now taken to a total war scale between Hawkins and the Upside Down.

A finale that appeals to the heart and nostalgia

The producers promise a season that combines action, high-level visual effects, and the emotional moments that defined its protagonists. The story is set in the fall of 1987 and features Linda Hamilton as a new addition to the main cast.
