Leandro Peña Biafore stopped being a River player and will continue his career at Ferro Carril Oeste. With no place in Marcelo Gallardo's plans, the center-back agreed to the termination of his contract by mutual consent with the club and was left as a free agent to look for regular playing time, something that he was not going to find in Núñez, where he never managed to make his Primera debut.
The 22-year-old footballer had returned to El Millonario at the beginning of 2025 after a short loan spell at Elche Ilicitano, the Spanish club's reserve team. That experience was marked by a new knee injury that prevented him from gaining minutes in European football and forced him to begin an extensive rehabilitation process.

Once he recovered, Peña Biafore rejoined the Reserve team in October, despite the fact that his advanced age no longer fit the category's project. With an overcrowded defense and no prospects of being considered for the professional squad, the parties agreed that the best solution was to bring his contractual relationship to an end.
