River decided to ensure the continuity of one of the pieces that began to gain prominence at an irregular start to the year: Tomás Galván. The offensive midfielder agreed to extend his contract until December 2028 and will have a termination clause of 100 million dollars, in line with the club's policy of
shielding its most valued players.
The decision comes in a context where the player's bond expired in the short term and there was a risk of leaving without leaving income. For this reason, the leadership moved forward to close its renewal and to allay any uncertainty surrounding
its future.
The 26-year-old midfielder became an important part of the squad after returning from his loan in Vélez. So far in 2026, he played all the games and started most of them, first under the leadership of Marcelo Gallardo and then with Eduardo Coudet, who maintained his leading role
in the team. Galván's new contract will run until the end of 2028
Its performance also helped to stabilize a middle area that had been showing irregularities. With Gallardo, he moved like a classic hitch and formed a prominent partnership with Juan Fernando Quintero, bringing play and arrival to the area.

Despite his constant back and forth, the midfielder was part of the squads that won the 2021 Professional League and the 2021 Champions Trophy.
