PlayStation is preparing a State of Play with game updates, remasters, and possible announcements
PlayStation is preparing to surprise players with a new State of Play or Showcase in the coming weeks. According to rumors, the event could take place before the end of September, following Sony's tradition since 2019.
The well-known insider Jeff Grubb revealed that the program will review the releases for the remainder of the year and 2025. Updates on highly anticipated games and possible first-hand announcements are expected.
At the September 2024 State of Play, titles such as Ghost of Yotei were showcased. Other announcements included: The Midnight Walk, Hell is Us, Sonic x Shadow Generations, Fantasian Neo Dimension, and the Chroma Collection for PS5.
These presentations have established the platform as a benchmark for exclusives and remasters.
Fans speculate that Sony could close the event with an announcement of a first-party project, such as a new title from Cory Barlog or the rumored God of War in 2D. Although there are no official confirmations, the community is expecting surprises to accompany the releases in this final stage of the year.
