Nintendo surprised fans with the release of the first official trailer for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, the highly anticipated new animated film from the universe of the most famous plumber in the world.
The preview showed never-before-seen scenes and confirmed the theatrical release date.

A first look that unleashed excitement
The trailer, released this Sunday, January 25, during a Nintendo event, presents Yoshi for the first time. The appearance of the charismatic green dinosaur was one of the moments most celebrated by fans.
The trailer also shows other key characters such as Rosalina, Bowser Jr. and Birdo, expanding the universe that had already been introduced in the first film.
New powers and references to the video games
Among the most talked-about scenes is the classic Fire Flower, one of the most emblematic items in the saga. The power once again plays a central role, staying true to the essence of the video games.
In addition, the trailer mixes direct references to Super Mario Galaxy with clear nods to Super Mario Odyssey, such as desert settings and giant structures that recall Tostarena and the Inverted Pyramid.
When The Super Mario Galaxy Movie will be released
Together with the preview, Nintendo officially confirmed that the film will be released on April 1 and will arrive exclusively in theaters. The date represents a slight move up compared to what was initially announced.
